Curly Girl, Wash Day

Updated: Oct 4, 2020

Where are my curly and wavy girls at!?!? I thought it would be fun to show you all how I’ve been maintaining my wavy hair and using NO heat on my hair for the last couple years (minus the odd blow out... maybe twice a year 😆😉)

Here are just a couple things to keep in mind....

First things first what you “wash” your hair with makes a hell of a difference in your curl texture and quality! If you wear your hair curly/wavy and are shampooing it’s with regular shampoo... STOP ✋ THERE! We need moisture in our hair and all “shampoo” does is strip the hair of its natural, protective oils which hydrate the hair! Hydration = moisture = kick ass Curls and wayyyyy less frizz! I use a sulfate, paraben & silicone free low lather vegan “shampoo” and conditioner which I’m obsessed with and has transformed the quality of and moisture in my hair.

Second key thing is the combo you use is dependent on what your hair goals are. Every body has different wants and needs. So trail and error is the name of the game!

Third if your hair isn’t 💧 Dripping wet when you apply your product, your doing it wrong and your hair is already too dry! I typically apply my products in the shower before I get out and I deff don’t touch it with a towel! (For video purposes I got covered up for you all😆, so it’s a little less wet than I’d like it to be but it’s still really wet and I did not touch it with a towel before I filmed)!

And lastly the more you DO NOT TOUCH the hair while it AIR DRIES, the better! If it’s tangled and needs a brush make sure you comb it out with your fingers IN THE SHOWER! The More you touch (after you’ve set it) = more frizz you’ll get!

Check out my vid below to see how I like to achieve my curls!
